The United States is heavily concerned by the recent announcements of genocide activities within Eastern Myanmar. Such detestable acts are strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law and as such are punishable by the International Criminal Court. The United State’s position on the matter is that joint endeavours must be made to bring those responsible to account and to prevent such further disturbing occurrences in the region. Non-discrimination and the right to freely express one’s religion are core concepts within the international human rights regime, and such a violation of these rights must be stopped immediately.
