USA Press Release

The US is disappointed in its Eastern European ally, Lithuania, and believes it has acted rashly with regards to the rare earth metals site and has offered a deal to Lithuania that offers great protection for the facility in addition to the existing forces that protect Lithuania in return for a share of the rare earth metals. The United States would like to make it clear that Lithuania entered into an agreement with the US to build a $20 billion facility that has been scrapped with no consultation with the US. The US expects some sort of recompense or else the American-Lithuanian relations will be very strained if not damaged. Also, there is still a large force of 3,000-5,000 US army soldiers in Lithuania as it is for the defence of the country, benefiting Lithuania greatly and securing its defences against possible attacks from much larger powers in the area.
