TURKMENS MASSACRED IN SYRIA

Militants from Hezbollah and other Syrian militias have massacred Turkmens during an attack in Syria. The attack seems to have been ethnically-targeted with some deliberation. The militants have also desecrated the burial site of a former Ottoman caliph. Details at this point as very sketchy, although the militants’ motivations seem very unclear, and their organisation and weaponry complement was more advanced than would normally be expected – accusations of foreign involvement abound.
