Massacre in the Mediterranean

Turkish attempts at recovering the situation in Cyprus have ended in disaster with the failure of an attempted amphibious assault. Analysis of the situation appears to indicate that no air support was provided for the landing forces. Turkish military fatalities are estimated to be in excess of 400, with over 2,000 personnel wounded or captured by Hellenic Forces. In addition, the Turkish Frigate Barbaros has been sunk by artillery fire from shore batteries, as well as 3 missile boats and 2 landing craft.
